Lakkidi ,one of the highest locations in Wayanad, is known as the gateway of Wayanad . Lakkidi, lies at the top of Thamarassery, a ghat pass at an elevation of 700m. from the sea level. Lakkidi is worshiped with continuous rain in 365 days.

The green mountain ranges, cold air, vegetation and the birds, eye view of the deep valley on the south, with its winding roads, are breath taking. The 12kms long journey from Adivaram to Lakkidi through ghat road with nine hairpin bends amidst thick forests, is a unforgettable experience.
